New Missionary Checklist

Before You Enter the MTC

Email a copy of the following items to the mission office: 2011905@churchofjesuschrist.org

1. Copy of the front and back of your driver's license
2. A report of your driving record called a Motor Vehicle Report from your state's DMV for missionaries from the USA
3. Signed "My Commitment to Drive" form
4. Signed "Personal Driving Record" from

Items to Bring with You

1. Driver's license. Get an extension or a new one if it expires on your mission
2. Driver's license, passport, or other photo ID needed to board airplanes
3. A copy of your family's medical insurance card
4. A copy of your patriarchal blessing
5. A copy of your priesthood line of authority
6. Know your social security number

Things to Purchase

1. Clothing per the church's clothing guidelines. Winter and rain protective clothing
2. After you arrive in the mission field you will need to purchase sheets for your bed.
3. After you arrive in the mission you may need to purchase a bicycle, helmet, and bicycle lock.

First Night Luggage Logistics

On the first night of arrival in the mission field, missionaries stay in a hotel. All luggage is loaded into a truck at the airport and taken to the church for transfers the follwing day. You will not have access to your large suitcases on your first night.

Please pack your carry-on bag with everything you will need for your first night along with clothing for the following day.

1. Musical Instruments (Must be approved by the mission president)
2. Computers
3. Tablets
4. Electronics
5. Playing cards or other games
6. Backpacks or briefcases
7. Smartwatches
8. Unapproved music
9. Weapons of any kind
