Welcome New Missionaries

Congratulations on your call to the Washington D.C. South Mission.  We know you are one of the Lord's choice servants who have been reserved to come to earth at this time to build the Kingdom of God and prepare for our Savior’s second coming.  We are anxious to get to know you and work with you to gather Israel in this wonderful part of His vineyard.

As you prepare to enter the field, please consider the following counsel: 

• Prayerfully study the Book of Mormon
• Study Preach My Gospel
• Read the missionary handbook "Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ"
• Serve and worship in the temple

Step 1

To help you prepare for service in the Washington D.C. South Mission we ask that you download and complete several important forms. The forms are accessible from the Download Forms link on this page or under the "New Missionaries" menu at the top of this page.  Please complete all of the forms and return them to the mission office (2011905@churchofjesuschrist.org) as soon as possible.

Review each category of information under "New Missionary Topics" on this page.  Subjects include clothing, mission rules, phones and technology. You can also find links to these subjects under "New Missionaries" in the menu at the top of the page.

We know you will love the Washington D.C. South Mission!  It covers a very exciting and dynamic population.  The people come from nearly every country in the world with dozens of languages, cultures, and religions.  Many are employed in government, high tech, military, and on the west side of the mission - agriculture.  No matter what their backgrounds they all need the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Lord is preparing souls here to receive your invitation to Come unto Christ.

Prepared missionaries that serve with all their heart, might, mind, and strength are magnified by the Lord and prosper in their labors.
